The Event

The edition of “Montegrappa Trophy 2008” will accommodate paragliding and hang-gliding pilots from all the world.
The competition will have beginning on March 20th 2008 for paragliding and March 22nd for hang-gliding and it will carry out until 24th for both.
The fly-scenery is the beautifulst frame of the veneta foothill. As every year a competition of highest level is shown where pilots of all the nations will dispute the tasks in a fly-zone among most famous in the world.
The "Montegrappa Trophy" is ranked as "must" on fly competitions.
This appointment with yearly cadence, coincides with the Easter time and as usually marks the seasonal beginning for all air sport competitions.
The “Aero Club Montegrappa” as organizing of the event it is ready to welcome also this year an agonistic event that at this point it’s became one tradition in the world of para-gliding and the hang-gliding sport.
Beginning from January 10th 2008 on thei AeC Montegrappa web-site - www.aeroclubmontegrappa.it all pilots will find the information and the formalities for the registrations to hang-gliding and paragliding competition.
Our competition will be registered on the FAI Sporting Calendar as a Category 2 event and also a "Open National Championship".

while there are always nice landing fields out in the valley to glide out to, being competative often puts the nice fields out of reach!
conditions if any good at all are quite predictable and it is normal to get almost all the field round a tricky course of 100km+, though quite often there will be a tricky bit where over half the field lands in the same place!
Beutiful place, loads to do, monuments, restaurants, venice 1 hour away if it rains.
Weather unpredictable, heavy rain can clear to good flying in an hour. Best to go for a week or more to be sure of good flying. when its good its very very good.
Easter early this year, but statistically early or late easter has no effect on the weather chances!
