Bleriot so far posted on 1249496481|%A: %d %B, %Y|agohover by Phil ChettPhil Chett

Well the Bleriot so far has been interesting with only 3 pilots available for the first day due to car problems in Dunkerque!!! We trailed with one (first) in goal and two outlanders compared to the French 2 in goal.
Day 2 the Cavalry arrived and we achieved 2 in goal apiece but trailed again in overall scores due to the French fielding a very strong side compared with our mixed ability (as per normal Bleriot) team make-up.
Day 3 scores awaited but we had 3 in Goal and 2 bomb outs compared to 6 french… similar we hear for the PG team also!!! At goal we had 1st, 3rd and 6th places!!!!

There is a french blog here…

Regards to all for now

Its now Sunday and everyone is off to pastures new.

Vladimir Leuskov

Dave Shields
came in second and so
was the Top Brit.
He wins the Alvin Russell
Trophy
Bruce Kavanagh
was third. and thus
placed Second in
the Uk Nationals

Carl-wallbank.jpg
Third placed Uk Nationals was
Carl Wallbank

I think everyone had a nice time here in sunny Spain, but the windy conditions played a significant part in the competition.

Roving reporter Mark Graham signing out, and going for a swim in the lake!

Ager nats. day seven update posted on 1248528531|%A: %d %B, %Y|agohover by markgrahammarkgraham

A 100km task was set with the window opening at 13:30.

The task was stopped at 14:50 With nearly all of the pilots already airborne. The reason for stopping the task was due to significant wind at altitude and the day was considered unsafe.

Welcome to the last day and the wind has dropped enough… we hope.

We are hoping for a task of over 100km and then get the results out as early as possible.

Here's hoping…

Re-brief at 13:00 to see if the wind on launch is OK.

Ager nats. day five posted on 1248335103|%A: %d %B, %Y|agohover by markgrahammarkgraham

Hoooooowling wind again. The locals are heard saying "its never like this" and "you should have been here last week"; usual rubbish!

It is possibly going to be 38°C today so we'll be mainly swimming. Some turbo nutter cyclists may go up the mountain.

Last night's buffet went down well. Skinny dipping in the pool, including Jamie. The ranks were disappointed when it was Jamie Hanlon and not Jamie Sheldon.

Its looking windy again tomorrow but there is a small light at the end of the tunnel for Saturday.

Ager nats. day four posted on 1248254194|%A: %d %B, %Y|agohover by Anonymous

Today's winner is…. the weather.

No flying today in Spain, or Europe by the looks of it. The weather in the USA looks good, and Northern India.

Tomorrow looks windy too, ho hum.

Ager nats. day three update posted on 1248180582|%A: %d %B, %Y|agohover by markgrahammarkgraham

Day3 Cancelled

The forecast said maybe windy on launch and probably windy above launch with a strong inversion below 2000m.

A 78km task was set and the window opened. The wind was significant and the day looked stable. within 15 minutes the wind picked-up and the day still looked stable. The task was cancelled.

It looks windier tomorrow, but I have been wrong before!
