Waypoints
These are Waypoints that are used in the BOS events.
You will find in each zipped folder various formates that should cover all types of gps. (I hope)
If you are able to upload them to your GPS please do so prior to the competition. (saves alot of time at registration)
If you extract these files, and put them somewhere on your computer somewhere, you can then use this handy, rough but works, Tool that converts to various formates. for printout for retrieve drivers. You will need to browse to the GEO file to do this.
File name | File type | Size | |

sew-mw-2013.zip | Zip archive data | 64.69 kB | Info |
How will this work, I remember you had to upload in pub after all (last year) so as to include pilot number?

there are two more waypoints that need to go in Andy.
These are generated from the scoring program, and will be squirted when you bring your gps in for download from the first task.
Hi,
I followed your instructions and loaded the following files onto my computer:-
Scot_cup.cup
scot_geo.wpt
Scot_gpx.gpx
scot_kml.kml
scot_mps.mps
I have a Garmin lead with a 9pin DIN plug on the end which will plug into my computer. Now what do I do ….the handbook with the Garmin doesn't tell me ?
Regards
Ken
OOps I've just noticed your 'Help on doing the above' button, sorry,
Ken
Hi Ken.
I never got round to adding more stuff to that help page.
But it will help you ensure you are gpsdump and your gps are communcating
once you have proved that then
go to gps dump
file
open WPTS
browse to say the kml version given in the zip file
you should then geta load of stuff in the window.
CTRL A in that window to select all of them
then… top menu click on WPTS
(make msure your gps is on)
send to garmin
watch the magic happen :-)
Sorry Phil,
The 'Magic' didn't happen ! I've got the GPS and the computer talking to each other now and I can see the list of waypoints on the computer but they don't appear to be stored in the GPS. Is there a way of just storing/downloading the Scotland waypoints, so that it might make the job easier (I'm only doing one round) ?
Ken (BOS novice)
Dont worry it about it too much Ken. I'll sort it at the comp. At least you had a go :-)

Has had a a bit of of an update, see if that helps.
Hi Phil,
I've sucessfully armed my gadgets with the relevant files, however I have noticed that the pdf list does not match the actual waypoints in the .gpx and .cup files. The pdf seems very incomplete to me.
Tony
The PDF is a printout for the retrieve drivers.
I didn't think they needed to know the airspace avoid waypoints so extracted them.
